SCHOOL WORKSHOPS
GIRL GROUP
The aim of this group is to increase wellbeing, to explore and understand positive relationships, stress management, staying safe, exploitation and grooming.
The Girls Group has been well attended and students engage positively in the sessions.
From feedback we have received, improvements have been noted in participants overall wellbeing and happiness at home and school. After the group attendees have been able to identify where to report concerns and felt confident to share concerns if needed.
WHAT IS COVERED IN THE SESSIONS?
The workshop runs for 6 sessions once a week and each session will cover a different topic:
Introduction
Positive friendships
Stress management
Exploitation and grooming
Where to access support and report concerns
Reflection & staying safe
WHY DO WE OFFER THIS?
Research shows that in the UK has found just one in 20 girls and young women feel completely safe. Therefore, this group creates a safe space for girls to speak about any worries they may have at school or outside school, whether that be issues with lessons or friendships/relationships.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Each six week program will consist of 6-8 students. It is available to students in all years, but we suggest it is best to focus on a cohort from either key stage three or four. The participants are identified by the school.
HOW TO REFER
Once a date for the workshop to start has been agreed we shall send out referral forms. We need all completed referrals returned one week before the workshop starts. Please note it is down to the school to get parent/carer consent prior to the workshop starting. Please contact the Sid Youth via email or phone for more information.
